Touristic Attractions and Activities, here and around
THE PARC REGIONAL
DU MARÉCAGE DES SCOTS
IS READY TO WELCOME YOU!
The trail entrance is located at Walter McKenzie Park in Scotstown and then wanders in the Hampden area.
From Patriot's Day weekend to Thanksgiving weekend, come bike and hike the trail.
The park is then closed during the hunting season until mid-December and is accessible again until the thaw for snowshoeing (or cross-country skiing if you open your own trails). Please note that the parking lots at the Marécage des Scots and Colonie de Franceville rest areas are not cleared during the winter.
The graveled multifunctional trail winds through the forest on a 16 km round trip.
You can continue for another 4.5 kilometres - on the Valley Trail (Piste de la Valllée) - within the Franceville sector of Mont-Mégantic National Park (MNMP). You will have to pay an access fee for this section within the MNMP though. This will take you to the beaver stop (Halte des castors); this magnificent family hike totalling a little over 25 kilometres (round trip) will be one of your favourites, that's for sure! For more details, visit www.sepaq.com/pq/mme.
We invite you to respect the regulations, especially for your safety, during the closed season for hunting. We insist on the respect of the environment and the obligation to bring back your garbage.
The Parc du Marécage des Scots is an ambitious project in full development.
